MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL is coming to town!

If you’re a baseball fan, then this is better than Santa Claus coming to town!  

It’s very exciting that Cardiff is getting NOT JUST ONE, but TWO events this June!

To celebrate the return of MLB to London Stadium this summer as the St Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs face off in a two-game series on June 24th and 25th, MLB, BaseballSoftballUK are hosting a MLB First Pitch Festivals in Sheffield, London,

AND CARDIFF!

On June 9th, the First Pitch Festival will be at the Cyncoed Campus of Cardiff Metropolitan University. The event, run by Major League Baseball London, is going to involve school children from schools involved in the First Pitch Programme. Twenty six schools have been signed up to the programme in Cardiff, with more on the way!

The participating children will be treated to a morning of baseball activities taken out of the First Pitch Programme playbook, with hitting activity stations, catching activity stations, base-running stations and more!

There is also a surprise in store for the participants – what could it be? 

This is an exciting time for baseball in Cardiff. The MLB First Pitch provides an opportunity for young people in the UK to learn the fundamentals of baseball – in a fun way! The programme is delivered in primary schools as PE sessions or an after school club, aimed at growing the sport in the UK – and also growing the fun! 

Wait – there’s a second event? 

That’s right! on June 21st, RBI Wales will be hosting Major League Baseball again! This time, for a PLAY BALL event! We’ll be back at the Cyncoed Campus of Cardiff Metropolitan University, this time to different group of children – over 300 school children are signed up to attend! A new group of children will be treated to a morning of baseball activities from this American staple of MLB events for young people. 

A huge surprise awaits these lucky children, who may come home with some merch, and definitely some great memories!
